Managing User Permissions

User Permissions

Sypht has a rich set of user permission controls (Role Based Access Controls RBAC) to enable your organization to control what its users can and cannot do within Sypht. It’s both a security practice to better secure your environment and also help you manage your workforce, as now you can set up dedicated users for different roles: reviewer, organizer, manager, admin.

Key things about Sypht user permissions:

  • Permissions are tiered with each tier inheriting the permissions of the lower tier, which means Organizer can do what a Reviewer does, Manager can do what an Organizer and Reviewer does, and so on.

  • Core + Human Review - Core functionality is Sypht's base functionality (extraction, tagging, deleting, etc). Human Review is Human-In-The-Loop validation functionality. You will not see this option if you don’t have Human Review enabled for your company. Contact sales for details on this functionality.

Role Definition
Core Human Review
Reviewer View and fix documents. View the task list and annotate tasks.
Organiser Upload, extract, delete, and export documents. And, create, edit, assign tags to documents. Can create, edit, and delete tasks. And, create, edit, assign tags to tasks.
Manager Manage users, API Credentials, view dashboards (billing), view marketplace. View task dashboards.
Administrator Can subscribe to AI products, manage payment details, and company details.

Viewing your User Permissions

A user’s permissions are viewable in their user profiles, under the User Roles area.

Setting permissions for users

Setting user permissions is available for users with the Manager and Administrator roles.

Managers cannot set permissions for users with higher permissions than themselves. Sorry, sounds confusing :smiling_face_with_3_hearts: I know, it just basically means that a manager can’t create an administrator. Only admins can create admins.

Setting their permissions through My Users

Set a user’s permissions through the My Users admin screen.

  1. Click the cog wheel and select My Users

  2. In the My Users screen, click on a user you want to set the permissions for.

  3. In the user screen, use the User Roles drop-down list to specify the user’s permissions.
